Leading van line Atlas Canada, a subsidiary of Atlas World Group, Inc., announces today that it has acquired Connect Logistics. The deal marks Atlas Canada’s first acquisition and will help the company more than double its logistics business. Connect Logistics will continue operating under its current name and leadership team.
Founded in 1999 and headquartered in Mississauga, Ontario, Connect Logistics is one of the largest logistics companies in Canada. The company offers it’s more than 200 customers specialized product transportation as well as warehousing and distribution services. In recent years, the company has experienced significant growth due to expansion and vertical market growth.

AMJ Campbell of North Bay awarded the prestigious 2016 Agent of the Year award by the Canadian Association of Moving (CAM)
The Agent of the Year Award honours a prominent van line agent who demonstrates outstanding corporate citizenship, in community service, employee relations, innovative operations and service excellence to customers. AMJ Campbell North Bay was the first van line agent in Canada to receive this prestigious award.
In addition to the Agent of the Year award from CAM, AMJ North Bay was honoured with an Atlas National Quality award, National Packing and Unpacking award, Platinum Customer Service award along with two sales awards for their agency.
The Jays Transportation Group of Saskatchewan awarded the 2016 Public Service Award by the Canadian Association of Movers (CAM)
This award honours an individual or group who has performed a significant act of moving-related service in the public interest including humanitarian achievements. The Jays Transportation Group has raised over $1.4 million for Telemiracle through their annual golf tournament. The Telemiracle Telethon raises funds for Saskatchewan residents to acquire special needs equipment and access to medical treatment. The 2016 Jay’s Annual Golf Classic was the 25th anniversary; raising the largest amount at $145,513.11.

Griffin has more than 20 years of experience in the domestic household goods, special products and international segments of the transportation industry. Since being appointed president and COO of Atlas World Group in 2010, he has expanded Atlas’ footprint in the industry and facilitated the development of new programs and initiatives to assist customers and Atlas agents throughout the U.S. and around the globe.

The Alberta Wildfire Donation Centre is now taking the lead on the Fort McMurray wildfire donations and is asking for our continued support for the 60,000+ evacuees. As the residents are beginning to get settled back into their communities, there are still many basic supplies needed to help during this difficult process.
Donations of new items only are very much appreciated and as of August 1st the most needed items are:

- NEW pillow cases (all sizes)
- NEW kids' toys
- Garbage bags
- Canned fruits
- Canned vegetables
- Canned meats
- Batteries (AA; AAA)
- Cleaning supplies

Atlas Van Lines will transport the donations to Edmonton for distribution to the local charities that are assisting the residents of Fort McMurray.

Atlas Van Lines Canada has recently changed the name of their Special Products Division to Atlas Canada Logistics to better reflect today's marketplace.
Earle Birt has been hired as VP and his mandate is to re-structure and build the overall Logistics division's service levels and capacity.
Atlas Canada currently has 20 trucks on the Logistics fleet and offers regular scheduled service across Canada and to the US. Atlas agents are now able to offer their clients regular scheduled service as well as customized service levels.
Atlas Canada Logistics is focusing on pad wrap and specialized service for TL and LTL to start and will be expanding their capabilities in the near future to include freight and freight brokerage.
Jeff Hartleib has been hired as the Director of Atlas Canada Logistics with the responsibility for the day to day operations.
"Giving the best service possible to our agents and customers and never turning down an opportunity is key to the division's future success" said Earle Birt, VP. "Our goal is provide a quote within 1 hour of receiving a rate request from an agent or client".
The Logistics division plans to increase the fleet to accommodate additional services in the future.
