Atlas Van Lines is pleased to offer two types of content protection coverage: full value protection and minimal protection. Full value protection is strongly recommended to protect your household goods. With this valuation option, Atlas Van Lines would repair any lost, damaged, or destroyed items or replace them with items of like kind and quality, or offer you a cash settlement for the market value of the items. 

 

In contrast, minimal protection allows you to file a claim for a lost or damaged item. However, claims are based on the item’s weight multiplied by 60 cents per pound.

The best way to protect fragile items from breakage during a long-distance move is to pack each item individually. Wrap them all in bubble wrap or other packing materials, such as newspaper or tissue paper. We also recommend packing foam sheets, towels, or more crumpled newspaper into each box to serve as a shock absorber. Only pack soft items with fragile items (there should be no sharp edges within the box). Finally, label your box with a “Fragile” sticker so the movers know to take extra care with the box(es).
