Atlas Van Lines Canada Renews Partnership with Tree Canada for 2026

Atlas Van Lines Canada is proud to continue its partnership with Tree Canada in 2026, reinforcing its commitment to environmental stewardship and sustainable business practices. As part of this initiative, Atlas Canada will plant one tree for every residential move booked in Canada throughout the year, contributing up to 5,000 trees to help restore forests, strengthen local ecosystems, and support a greener future.

These trees will be planted in communities across the country, helping to sequester carbon, enhance biodiversity, and improve overall environmental health.

To further amplify the impact, the Government of Canada will match the number of trees planted through its 2 Billion Trees program – doubling the positive environmental contribution of every customer move.

“At Atlas Canada, sustainability is about taking meaningful action,” said Fred Haladay, President & COO of Atlas Canada. “Every move represents an opportunity to give back to the communities we serve. Through our continued partnership with Tree Canada, we’re proud to help grow Canada’s tree canopy and make a lasting difference – one tree at a time.”

This program is brought to life through Atlas Canada’s nationwide network of trusted agents, who support customers throughout their relocation journeys. Together, Atlas and its agents are empowering customers to take part in environmental restoration simply by choosing Atlas for their move.

As Atlas Canada looks ahead, the company remains focused on advancing sustainable practices across its operations. The ongoing partnership with Tree Canada reflects Atlas Canada’s broader commitment to reducing its environmental footprint while contributing to healthier, more resilient communities for generations to come.

Every Move Matters.

At Atlas Van Lines Canada, we believe every move matters — not just where people are going, but how we show up for the communities we serve.

That belief goes beyond moving homes. It’s about moving in ways that make a difference.

That’s why every move booked with Atlas helps put meals on the table for families in need across Canada, through our ongoing support of local food banks and our partnership with Food Banks Canada.

This Family Day, that commitment matters more than ever.

Family Day Should Be About Togetherness — Not Choosing Between Food and Heat

Family Day is meant to be a time for connection.

A long weekend. Shared meals. Kids at the table. A moment to slow down.

But for far too many families across Canada, this time of year brings a different reality — one filled with impossible choices no family should ever have to make.

Do we pay the rent, or buy groceries?
Do we turn up the heat, or make sure the kids eat?
Do we skip meals today, hoping tomorrow will be better?

These are not abstract questions. They are being asked right now, in communities across the country.

The Reality Families Are Facing This Winter

The demand for food banks in Canada has reached historic levels — and families are at the centre of the crisis.

  • Nearly 1 in 4 food bank clients are two-parent families with children, up from 19% just a few years ago
  • Over 700,000 visits to food banks every month are made by children
  • Almost 1 in 5 food bank users is employed, yet still unable to make ends meet

Behind every statistic is a family doing their best — working, budgeting, sacrificing — and still coming up short.

Parents are skipping meals so their kids don’t have enough to eat.

Families are going without winter boots or snowsuits to stretch the grocery budget.

Households are one late payment away from eviction in the coldest weeks of the year.

This is not what Family Day should look like.

Why Food Banks Matter More Than Ever

Food banks are more than a source of food. They are a lifeline.

They offer families:

  • Immediate access to healthy, nutritious meals
  • Support delivered with dignity and care
  • Breathing room — time to stabilize, regroup, and plan ahead

And when families don’t have to worry about their next meal, something powerful happens:

  • Parents can focus on work or education
  • Children can concentrate at school
  • Futures begin to feel possible again

But food banks are under immense strain. Demand has more than doubled in the past six years, and many are struggling to keep shelves stocked and doors open.

That’s why support — especially at moments like this — matters so much.

Standing With Families and Communities Across Canada

Atlas Van Lines Canada agents live and work in the communities they serve. They see firsthand how economic pressures affect families, neighbours, and local food banks.

That’s why Atlas is proud to partner with Food Banks Canada during this critical time.

In recognition of Family Day and the urgent needs families are facing this winter, Atlas Van Lines is matching all donations dollar-for-dollar — up to $25,000 — until February 16.

That means every gift goes twice as far.

Just $42 becomes $84, providing enough nutritious food to help feed a family of four for two full weeks.

More Than a Meal — A Path Forward

When families receive support at the right moment, the impact lasts far beyond the food on the table.

It means:

  • Parents don’t have to choose between groceries and rent
  • Kids can enjoy school lunches without worry
  • Families can focus on building, not just surviving

It means Family Day can once again be about what it’s meant to be — togetherness, stability, and hope.

How You Can Help

Right now, families across Canada need all of us — individuals, businesses, and communities — to show up.

Through the Every Move Matters commitment, Atlas Van Lines Canada is proud to stand alongside Food Banks Canada to help ensure no family has to face hunger alone this winter.

If you’re able, consider making a gift during the matching period. Your support helps keep food banks strong today — and builds a more resilient system for the future.

Because every move matters.

Atlas Canada Joins Forces with Food Banks Canada to Support Families in Need

Oakville, ON — February 9, 2026

Atlas Van Lines Canada is proud to continue its partnership with Food Banks Canada, a national charitable organization dedicated to relieving hunger and strengthening food security across the country. In 2026, Atlas Canada remains committed to giving back and providing meals to families in need for every residential move booked in Canada.

This initiative reflects Atlas Canada’s ongoing commitment to making a meaningful difference in our community. Through this partnership, Atlas Canada supports food banks nationwide, helping ensure more people in Canada have access to nutritious food during challenging times.

“At Atlas Canada, we believe every move has the power to create positive change, not only by helping families relocate, but by strengthening the communities where we live and work,” said Fred Haladay, President & CEO of Atlas Canada. “Our continued collaboration with Food Banks Canada allows us to turn everyday moves into meaningful impact. Together, we’re helping provide essential support to families across Canada, one move at a time.”

“Food insecurity in Canada has reached a level we cannot ignore. With close to 2.2 million visits made to food banks this month alone, people across the country are facing pressures unlike anything we’ve seen before, and the need for strong, sustained support has never been greater,” shared Erin Filey-Wronecki, Chief Development & Partnerships Officer, Food Banks Canada. “Thanks to the continued commitment from Atlas Van Lines Canada, we can support those in communities across the country who need it most, working towards our vision of a Canada where no one goes hungry.”

Atlas Canada Proudly Serves as a Matching Partner for Food Banks Canada’s Family Day Campaign

From February 9–16, 2026, Atlas Canada is honoured to once again serve as a matching partner for Food Banks Canada’s Family Day Campaign. This campaign helps to amplify efforts and provide meals to families facing food insecurity. During this time, Atlas Canada will match the first $25,000 in Family Day donations—doubling the impact for communities in need. A gift of $42, when matched, can help feed a family of four for up to two weeks, providing vital support when it matters most.

This initiative offers an opportunity for Canadians to come together, demonstrate the power of community, and help ensure families across the country have access to the food they need.
